Walk into the lounge of this bright, modern house and you won’t be able to take your eyes off that view. Perfect for families or friend groups, the three-bedroom cottage sits overlooking the seaside town with superb sweeping views that just don’t get old.
The main floor has a lovely open feel with light flooding in through three windows and plenty of room to relax, including comfy leather sofas and a dining table. The layout works well for families or for friend groups, with bedrooms split between first and lower-ground floor, giving everyone their own space. And a bathroom on each floor too is an added bonus. The crowning glory here is the top floor double room where the dual-aspect windows frame views from the harbour right up to the breakwater. Take a moment to sit in the window and you’ll feel on top of the world – like a monarch gazing over their kingdom.
When you can tear yourself away, it’s a short walk down to town, less than 300 metres – where you can take a boat trip around the bay, explore the museum ship The Golden Hind, or try crabbing off the harbour wall. Wander half a mile up the coast to Breakwater Beach for a spot of paddling or walk right along the half-mile breakwater for a taste of the ocean without getting your feet wet. Sandy beaches and kids’ attractions at Paignton such as the water park and zoo are an easy 6-mile trip, and there are two National Trust houses to explore within 5 miles of the house. History-lovers should head to Dartmouth which has some charming galleries, museums and buildings, as well as a 14th-century castle.
