Lovingly maintained three-storey marine house enjoying a fantastic location overlooking the harbour in the English Riviera town of Brixham.

Boasting a fantastic location overlooking Brixham’s marina, this three-storey home is the perfect choice for those in search of a relaxing coastal break. Its quirky layout makes the most of the spectacular views to be enjoyed from most of its rooms. With the town centre and harbour just a short walk away, this two-bedroom cottage would perfectly suit couples or small families who are looking to really soak up the English Riviera atmosphere.

Entering this stylish property on the first floor, you’ll discover a contemporary kitchen/diner with a wide Juliet balcony, which allows for unrivalled views across the harbour. Rustle up some freshly caught seafood which you’ve picked up at the town’s fish market, before settling down to eat together at the dining table. Take the stairs up to the light and airy lounge, arguably the most impressive room in the house, which is dominated by floor-to-ceiling windows. Step out onto the spacious balcony and enjoy a morning coffee while you watch the boats come and go, or if you’re in the mood for a little al fresco dining, settle back with a glass of wine to watch the sun set. When it’s time to rest, you’ll be heading downstairs to the welcoming bedrooms on the ground floor. Juliet balconies in both ensure you’ll wake up to that wonderful view across the harbour.

Explore the pretty town of Torquay by hopping on the passenger ferry across the bay. Berry Head National Nature Reserve (1.5 miles) is a haven for wildlife and history lovers and has some fantastic walks to enjoy, with spectacular views out to sea. For a more relaxed pace, pack a picnic and head to Breakwater Beach, which is just half a mile from the cottage.

Fabulous location with easy access to all that Brixham has to offer. Loved sitting on the balcony watching the activity in the harbour. No problem with the seagulls when eating outside.

What a view! Despite the rain most of the week we really enjoyed our stay at Top Gallant. The cottage is well equipped, comfortable but the view is fantastic overlooking the harbour, with so much going on there is always something to look at, this really made our holiday as we could not eat out inside. The house was over 3 floors with very narrow steep steps down to bedrooms and up to living room from the kitchen on the middle floor. Not ideal for the elderly or anyone with a disability. Lovely views of the harbour and very spacious living area.

There are several narrow streets to explore lined with colourful fishermen’s houses, with plenty of other great places nearby to discover including Paignton, Plymouth and Torquay.

For the active in your group, there are all sorts of activities to try your hand at, whether you’re a fan of swimming in the sea or prefer to enjoy long walks on dry land, with some great places to enjoy treks including the Berry Head Nature Reserve. And for fun-packed days out, there are several to treat the kids to in the local area, including Paignton Zoo, Woodlands Theme Park and Kent’s Cavern.
