The town’s bustling harbour is 450 metres away with its many restaurants, pubs and shops. There are some fantastic boat trips, walks and cycle routes on the doorstep too, making this the perfect base from which to explore the picturesque English Riviera, whatever your preferred mode of travel!

You’ll be in the holiday mood in no time, as you walk in the front door of this spacious and welcoming ground-floor home. Curl up on the comfortable sofas with a coffee and take in the wonderful harbour views from the bay window in the lounge, or perhaps snuggle down together to watch your favourite film. The kitchen/diner has everything you need to whip up something special for two, perhaps using some of the freshly caught seafood you may have picked up on your travels. In the cosy bedroom, a restful night’s sleep awaits ensuring you wake feeling recharged and ready for another day of exploring. Outside, take in the stunning views and sea breeze with a glass of wine in the pretty front garden. To the rear of the property, you’ll also find a courtyard and covered storage area, which is perfect for bikes.

Take a romantic stroll along the South West Coast Path to Berry Head National Nature Reserve, 1.5 miles away. Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins and grey seals along the way! Wander around the National Trust’s Greenway House and Gardens (4.5 miles), which was once the holiday home of author Agatha Christie. Relax on one of the superb beaches along this stretch of coast – Breakwater Beach is less than half a mile from the cottage.

The Moorings was a home from home with everything that you could wish for. Location was fantastic, with a view of the harbour from the lounge window. The decor was A*. It was very clean and well presented with lovely touches like milk in the fridge and biscuits to welcome us.

We were extremely pleased with our choice. The apartment was clean, good position with lovely view over the harbour. Great access coastal footpaths and said harbour that we didn't need to use the car all week.

Treat yourself to a memorable holiday in the beautiful coastal resort of Brixham, where there are a variety of fantastic experiences that will entertain all ages. A lively harbour town, there is plenty to see and do in and around the town.

Crabbing is the number one activity in Brixham, and little ones will love dangling their line over the water’s edge and seeing how many crabs they can capture. Children young and old will also be entertained by the stories of the smugglers and the pirates who once walked the streets of the village. There are several narrow streets to explore lined with colourful fishermen’s houses, with plenty of other great places nearby to discover including Paignton, Plymouth and Torquay.

For the active in your group, there are all sorts of activities to try your hand at, whether you’re a fan of swimming in the sea or prefer to enjoy long walks on dry land, with some great places to enjoy treks including the Berry Head Nature Reserve. And for fun-packed days out, there are several to treat the kids to in the local area, including Paignton Zoo, Woodlands Theme Park and Kent’s Cavern.
