Three-storey period property with attractive original features, offering stunning views of Brixham harbour, within walking distance of the town centre and beaches.

This property is located near to Brixham town centre within easy reach of the historic harbour, once the stomping ground for the area’s notorious pirates. For those who want to learn more about the town’s chequered history, there is a popular self-guided walking tour which follows in the footsteps of Black Beard. The town also has a fantastic replica of Sir Francis Drake’s ship, The Golden Hind, which makes for an interesting afternoon spent exploring the decks and the hands-on exhibits. Of course, this part of Devon is well-known for its beaches and there are several within easy reach of Brixham town centre, including the main Breakwater Beach, which is just a short walk from the property.

This property sleeps eight people and makes a great place for a larger group holiday or family celebration. The main living area is on the ground floor, comprising the lounge, dining room, and kitchen. The lounge is a homely and cosy space in which to relax, with comfortable seating a Smart TV/DVD player, Wii console and coal-effect electric fire. The dining room is next to the kitchen and offers a place for formal meals or somewhere to sit and read in front of the electric effect log burner. The kitchen though modestly sized is well-equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine, in fact everything guests will need to make themselves at home. The patio door in the kitchen opens out onto steep steps which take guests up to the raised decked terrace. The first floor is where guests will find the first of the four bedrooms: a double room with marina views and an en-suite shower room with walk-in shower and WC. The main bathroom is also on this floor, which has a sumptuous roll-top bath, a separate walk-in shower, and WC. Stairs lead to the second floor, where the three remaining bedrooms are located: two doubles and one bunk bedroom.

Behind the property are 3 levels of terrace reached by steps giving spectacular views over Torbay, which is accessed by steps from the ground-floor, therefore we advise that children are carefully supervised.  The steps up to the terraces are unlit and are dark at night. The table and chairs on the terrace provide the perfect space to enjoy drinks whilst taking in the stunning views. The owners of the property provide guests with a paid parking space for the marina car park, which is just 300 metres from the property; this has to be arranged prior to arrival.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

  • Four bedrooms: 3 doubles and 1 bunk bedroom
  • Please note access to the bed in the third double is restricted to one side only
  • Bathroom with bath, shower, and WC, plus en-suite shower room to the first-floor bedroom with walk-in shower and WC

  • Paid for parking space available in nearby marina car park provided which must be arranged prior to arrival

The house is in a great location with a short walk to the harbour and beautiful views from the house. We were all fit enough to cope with the steps up to the house and to the outside seating area but not for the fainthearted. The decoration was tasteful with some lovely pictures on the walls and and some quirky touches. It is comfortable for a grouRead morep of 6 - 8 and we very much enjoyed our holiday there. Hide

We had a lovely stay. The one thing I would highlight to other potential guests is the amount of steps up to the house and the fact that the car park is a 5 min walk down the road.

Lovely cottage with good amount of space and so handy to the harbour... only down side for us was definitely not disabled friendly AT ALL.. steps up to property are only for the fit and even the couple of steps to the front door are so steep!! Far too hardcore for even slightly less mobile.. this cottage is advertised with a disabled friendly icon Read more- don't believe it just simply not true ... if you are 100% fit and able book it if any less that that then don't :) Hide
