Grade II listed coastguard’s cottage, enjoying a prime location on the seafront at Berry Head National Nature Reserve, just a short walk from Brixham town centre.

This property is located just to the west of Brixham town centre, and enjoys direct access to the coastal path running alongside Berryhead nature reserve. Just a few minutes from the town’s Shoalstone beach, it makes a wonderful place for beach-lovers, keen swimmers, and walkers to enjoy a relaxing break. The shingle beach at Shoalstone boasts a 53-metre saltwater lido, providing safe swimming whatever the tidal conditions. Just a few more minutes’ walk around the coast will bring visitors to the town’s busy harbour, where they may wish to take a pleasure boat cruise, join a fishing trip, or take the ferry across to the neighbouring resort of Torquay.

At the heart of this seafront period cottage is the spacious lounge/diner, an inviting space with glorious sea views which can be enjoyed from the sofas and armchairs, as well as the dining table. There is a TV here too, with SkyTV package. The kitchen, located off the lounge, is contemporarily styled and is equipped with an oven, hob, fridge, microwave, and dishwasher, whilst the fridge/freezer and washing machine are housed nearby in a separate utility room. A second lounge in the form of a snug room can also be found on the ground floor, and with its TV and sofa bed, it makes a great space for teenagers, or two additional guests. The downstairs shower room with WC is particularly handy if this room is being used as a bedroom. On the first floor of the property, guests will find two of the property’s three bedrooms: a twin room and a double room with sea views, as well as a bathroom with bath and WC. The master bedroom suite, which enjoys wonderful sea views, is located for maximum privacy on the second floor of the house, with its double bed and en-suite shower room offering a walk-in shower and WC.

Outside, to the rear of the property, there is a fantastic enclosed garden which is mainly set to lawn and offers plenty of space to relax and listen to the waves crashing, as the coast-path lies just beyond the gate at the bottom of the garden. There is off-road parking available for two cars.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

  • Sleeps 6+2
  • Three bedrooms: 2 doubles and 1 twin, plus additional sofa-bed sleeping 2 in the snug room
  • Bathroom with bath and WC, ground-floor shower room with WC, and en-suite shower and WC to the master bedroom
  • TV with full Sky package, plus additional TV in the snug room
  • Wi-Fi included
  • Oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine
  • Electric and heating included

Seaspray is a good location especially if you have dogs and cars as there is a good sized garden and parking. Close to Berry head for walks with the guardhouse cafe. Shoals and the Berry Head Hotel fabulous eating places both for lunch and evening meal. Flattish walk into town. We use the sofa bed room so 8 can stay here. Noisy plumbing though !

We have stayed in Brixham many many times and the appeal of this cottage was definitely the location which didn't disappoint! The location of Seaspray makes everything perfect. Morning walks with the dog, straight out to the seafront and pool rocks, heaven! A new coffee shop has made the difference placed perfectly at bottom of the garden. Garden fully enclosed, great for children and dogs alike. House fully and invitingly equipped, thank you to owners for such comfort anRead mored warmth. We utilised ground floor bedroom which made our elderly brother in law most comfortable, having his own shower room, and access to kitchen for his early morning cuppa! My sister and partner visited for one night, they had top floor with own shower room, whilst hubby and me had full use of middle floor with own bathroom alike. Perfect for everyone, thank you to owners once again. We can't wait to return. Hide

Treat yourself to a memorable holiday in the beautiful coastal resort of Brixham, where there are a variety of fantastic experiences that will entertain all ages. A lively harbour town, there is plenty to see and do in and around the village.

Crabbing is the number one activity in Brixham, and little ones will love dangling their line over the water’s edge and seeing how many crabs they can capture. Children young and old will also be entertained by the stories of the smugglers and the pirates who once walked the streets of the village. There are several narrow streets to explore lined with colourful fishermen’s houses, with plenty of other great places nearby to discover including Paignton, Plymouth and Torquay.

For the active in your group, there are all sorts of activities to try your hand at, whether you’re a fan of swimming in the sea or prefer to enjoy long walks on dry land, with some great places to enjoy treks including the Berry Head Nature Reserve. And for fun-packed days out, there are several to treat the kids to in the local area, including Paignton Zoo, Woodlands Theme Park and Kent’s Cavern.
