Traditional fishermen’s cottage with a sunny patio and sun room, both with views to Brixham harbour which lies just 200 metres from the property’s front door.

This property is located close to the harbour and town centre in delightful Brixham, one of three towns that make up the area known as the English Riviera. The area is known for its warm microclimate and there are a number of beaches close to the town centre which allow visitors to make the most of the warm waters and sunny days. One beach, at Shoalstone, even has a large 53-metre tidal pool, allowing safe bathing no matter what the conditions are out at sea. The town centre is a charming place with a good range of shops, as well as a number of pubs and family-run restaurants, many of which specialise in the local seafood which visitors can see the fishermen bringing home in the town’s harbour.

This characterful cottage is a great place to spend a few days away, and the guests will feel the welcoming, cosy atmosphere as soon as they enter. The front door opens into the sun room, an unusual addition to the property of this size, which offers a great place to have breakfast whilst watching the morning activity on the harbour. Then through to the lounge, with its inviting sofa, TV, Blu-ray player, and wood burner-effect gas fire, this room makes for a fantastic place to sit back, relax, whatever the weather and let the stresses of daily life melt away. Several steps lead to the dining room with Combi TV, whilst a few more steps lead to the kitchen. The style and age of the cottage means that these rooms have sloping ceilings and some reduced head-height, however, the kitchen is still well-equipped and offers an AGA double oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, Miele dishwasher, and washer/dryer. Winding cottage-style stairs lead to the first-floor where the bedroom is located, with its king-size Hypnos mattress bed, DVD player. Patio doors here open onto the balcony patio which has chairs provided to allow guests to sit at night with drinks and gaze out to sea. The shower room is also on this floor, with its shower and WC.

The property has a fantastic South/West facing balcony patio, located off the bedroom, which is the perfect spot for watching the fishing boats and pleasure craft come and go below. There is a garden with the cottage which is used on occasions by the owners but can be used by guests if available (which is most of the time) although guests will be able to share the garden with the owners if being used by them during their stay.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

  • 1 king-size bedroom
  • Shower room with shower and WC
  • TV and Blu-ray player, plus additional TV and DVD in the bedroom
  • Wi-Fi included
  • Wood burner-effect gas fire
  • Oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine
  • Electric and heating included
  • Bed linen and towels included
  • 1 dog welcome, further by arrangement
  • Beach, pub, and shops all within walking distance
  • Please note that this property has sloping ceilings and a winding staircase
  • There is a garden with the cottage which is used on occasions by the owners but can be used by guests if available (which is most of the time), although guests will be able to share the garden with the owners if being used by them during their stay
  • Brixham is busy fishing village situated on a very steep hill, so access to some parts of the village can be challenging.
  • Many of the amenities and cottages in Brixham are accessed via steps some of which can be steep.
  • Please contact us if you have specific requirements.
  • There are many small winding streets that are not suitable for cars, therefore many properties in Brixham do not have private parking. However, alternative parking is available in local carparks.

Need to describe hills as steep inclines as wouldve been better prepared. Lovely cottage and beautiful views. Wouldve liked more grass for the dog but Loved it.

Beautiful quirky little cottage with a lovely roof garden. Less than 5 minutes walk into the harbour meant the location was ideal. Everywhere was dog friendly including the cottage which even had towels to use for the dog if needed. I have never been self catering in such a well equipped cottage. Lovely quaint cottage with absolutely stunning views of the harbour from both the sun room and roof terrace. Very close to the town and the harbour with all the amenities. Brixham is a hilly town and so the walks to and from the cottage are also hilly. Treat yourself to a memorable holiday in the beautiful coastal resort of Brixham, where there are a variety of fantastic experiences that will entertain all ages. A lively harbour town, there is plenty to see and do in and around the town.

Crabbing is the number one activity in Brixham, and little ones will love dangling their line over the water’s edge and seeing how many crabs they can capture. Children young and old will also be entertained by the stories of the smugglers and the pirates who once walked the streets of the village. There are several narrow streets to explore lined with colourful fishermen’s houses, with plenty of other great places nearby to discover including Paignton, Plymouth and Torquay.

For the active in your group, there are all sorts of activities to try your hand at, whether you’re a fan of swimming in the sea or prefer to enjoy long walks on dry land, with some great places to enjoy treks including the Berry Head Nature Reserve. And for fun-packed days out, there are several to treat the kids to in the local area, including Paignton Zoo, Woodlands Theme Park and Kent’s Cavern.
