Attractive two-bedroomed cottage enjoying a central yet quiet location in the English Riviera town of Brixham, situated just a few metres from the town’s bustling harbour.

With two equally charming double rooms, this cute cottage is a great seaside retreat for friends or small families. It’s got the best of both worlds with a location right in the heart of town, yet set back from the roads in a traffic-free zone.

Step into the rustic-style kitchen and you’ll know you’re onto a winner. Made from reclaimed wood, with cosy underfloor heating, it’s a great place to chat and catch up. Fire up the wood burner on cold evenings, relax in the antique high-back chairs with a glass of wine, and the pressures of everyday life will fade away. Opt for the top floor bedroom in the eaves and throw open the French doors to enjoy views over the rooftops and the harbour, or choose the first floor double with its atmospheric beamed ceiling and pretty sash window.

It is a matter of steps from the property to the harbourside and town centre, with a decent scattering of cafes and restaurants. There are boat trips and fishing excursions to occupy anyone keen to get out on the water, and plenty of coastal walks for those who prefer their feet on firm ground. Stroll half a mile from the house to pretty Battery Gardens, or if you’re feeling energetic, carry on along the coast path all the way to Paignton, 4 miles, where you’ll have certainly earned a cream tea. Hop in the car and visit some of historical Dartmouth, 5 miles away, then hire paddleboards and enjoy the serenity of the River Dart.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

  • Two double bedrooms
  • Bathroom with shower-over-bath
  • TV and DVD

  • Many of the amenities and cottages in Brixham are accessed via steps some of which can be steep. Please contact us if you have specific requirements.

A lovely cosy cottage, best suited to a couple as there is not a lot of 'living' space. Great location and beautiful views out to the harbour.

Lovely small quirky cottage to use as a base for your holiday. We hadnt appreciated the fitness level required to get to and from it though and also to load and unload belongings.

As a property owner with Holiday Cottages we make an effort to upgrade items when we can. Need to do the same for Griffin Cottage. Freshen up the internal paint work when the opportunity arises. Garden area could be tidied up to make that area more presentable.

This is a lovely cottage in a great location close to the harbour and with fantastic views out to sea. Brixham is a lovely place which feels unspoiled by being too touristy and combining a working fishing port, really fantastic!

A lovely little cottage - the steps to access it though shouldnt be underestimated! Loading and unloading can be a bit difficult unless youre lucky enough to get in one of the loading bays in front of the shops. Would highly recommend a parking permit, we paid 35 for the week which covered all Torbay Council car parks. Overall we had a lovely stay Read more- tastefully decorated, authentic cottage, perfect for accessing the bars and restaurants on the harbour, the many beaches and Shoalstone Pool. Hide

Crabbing is the number one activity in Brixham, and little ones will love dangling their line over the water’s edge and seeing how many crabs they can capture. Children young and old will also be entertained by the stories of the smugglers and the pirates who once walked the streets of the village. There are several narrow streets to explore lined with colourful fishermen’s houses, with plenty of other great places nearby to discover including Paignton, Plymouth and Torquay.
