This inviting, compact property is perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway and a great base for discovering the area. Situated on a small holiday complex just outside the coastal village of Charmouth, the beautiful 30 acre site includes two small lakes and a 4 star hotel which has a Café Bar, restaurant and Spa facilities open to non-residents. Located on the Jurassic Coastal Path diversion, this property offers guests access to more than 250 miles of beautiful coastal walks. Search for fossils on local Charmouth Beach or Lyme Regis, which boasts a good choice of shops, restaurants and cafes. Nearby Seaton and Sidmouth both have plenty of coastal charm to offer, as does the old fishing village of Beer. Other nearby attractions include Pecorama, Beer Caves, Seaton Tramway, Crealy, Bicton Park, Burrows Farm Gardens, Killerton and Knightshayes Court. The Jurassic Coastal Bus stops at the bottom of the drive making it very convenient for journeys out without the car.

Heading inside, this cosy apartment is full of character and beautifully presented in a fresh nautical theme. Towards the rear of the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is a compact yet contemporary and well-equipped kitchen area. Here you will find an electric oven and hob and fridge with ice compartment. Enjoy romantic meals at the table nearby before retreating to the lounge area, which features coastal-inspired furniture and a TV for cosy nights in. The separate bedroom area is compact with a small double bed with ships cabin hangers for storing clothes (please note the bed is against the wall and accessed on one side). The clean and bright shower room is adjacent to the bedroom and also displays a fun, nautical theme.

Immediately outside the property is a small, shared open courtyard area with seats. There is also a shared lawn area with seating and a BBQ for enjoying al fresco meals, together with beautifully maintained shared gardens and two lakes for romantic strolls. Between May and September, guests are also invited to use the shared heated outdoor swimming pool - guests can book a 50 minute slot each day for the pool (maximum 1 slot per household per day) – there will be a non-refundable payment of £2 per person, details of the booking system will be displayed in the property on arrival.

Compass Corner is an attractively furnished small space. The nautical decorations are pleasing and the kitchen is well equipped. However, it must be said that there are serious problems. There is no Internet. In 2022 this is a big problem. The pool needs to be booked between 10.00 and 12.00 am and costs 2.00 per person per hour. The walk to CharmouRead moreth beach is 20 mins but a lot longer uphill! The tiny, squashed double bedroom is a nightmare due to having to climb over each other! Hide

A nice compact cottage with a seaside theme. Good to have table and chairs outside. Easy walk into Charmouth about 20 mins and regular buses back 2.50. Charmouth road car park good for Lyme Regis or you can walk into town on south west coast path diversion, path near entrance to Fernhill Hotel . Small, but well equipped and spotless. Everything you need really. Very peaceful and quiet. The grounds are well kept. We were lucky with the weather and travelled around , lyme Regis just 5 minutes away.

Nicely decorated in a nautical style, lounge/kitchen/dining area is comfortable. As mentioned by others the bedroom is small and awkward. No wifi available but mobile reception is good. A good location for Charmouth and Lyme Regis, fantastic walks and scenery in this area of Dorset. Good information available for walks and sightseeing.

The cotttage is in a good location to travel to Lyme Regis, and Charmouth beaches. Having parking was a real bonus. The complex was good, being able to breakfast on the patio and also having access to some countryside in the grounds. Having access to the swimming pool was a real bonus.

Very clean and well situated property stylishly decorated. However let down by lack of some basic equipment. Extremely uncomfortable bedroom- very small and bed positioned in corner of room which necessitated climbing over each other to get in and out . Lack of mains water also a real drawback.

Had a lovely mini break. Great hub for visiting lots of Devon & Dorset. Apartment is small but was fine for the 2 of us. Shame we couldnt use pool or hotel restaurant but that was down to covid restrictions . Would stay again if visiting Dorset again.
