Families will love the central location of this traditional sailor’s cottage, with an unconventional layout that really makes the most of the superb vista across Brixham harbour. In an elevated position above the town, it’s just a few minutes on foot to the town centre and busy fishing port.

Accommodation is spread over three floors. Kids will relish their own space – with a bunk room and twin on the ground floor - while Mum and Dad can retreat to the master en-suite at the top of the house. Everyone can congregate on the first floor, and the two TVs will prevent any squabbles for the remote after a long day exploring. On sunny afternoons children will enjoy the cute shady garden room in the split level garden, while you watch the harbour activity from the patio seating. And as the sun goes down, there’s no need to change the view, just head inside and watch from the comfort of the lounge.

It’s less than 200 metres down some steep steps to the town centre and the harbour, and only half a mile for those with pushchairs or the less agile. Take a boat trip out around the bay, try your hand at crabbing or take the older kids out on a fishing trip. Younger kids will love the pebbly beaches, half a mile in the other direction from the house, where there’s also a sea water swimming pool. For a larger strip of beach, with a little sand too, head to St Mary’s Bay on the south side of the headland, about a mile by car. Walkers will enjoy the stroll, about 2 miles, which passes Berry Head Lighthouse – with some spectacular clifftop views.

  • Three bedrooms:
  • 1 double with a en-suite ,(which has a wash basin & WC) located on the top floor
  • 1 twin bedroom and 1 bunk bedroom - located on the ground floor

The cottage was lovely. Even though the steep steps were mentioned we found the number of steps to the car park from back door were a difficulty when loading and unloading car. The steps to harbour 70+ were off putting.

A lovely location with amazing harbour and sea views. Lots to see in and around the area including some lovely dog friendly coves a short drive away. Our teens also loved going to the waterpark in Paignton a short drive away. We also loved watching the Dolphins from the top of Berry Head.

An amazing property with stunning views over the harbour and bay. You need to be fit and sure-footed as there are 45 steep steps down from the lofty parking place to the back door and those inside are narrow and twisty. But the cottage itself is comfortable, well equipped and full of delights. It is only a 10 minute walk to the harbour (a little loRead morenger to climb back up!) and there are four outside seating areas. The parking place is particularly useful, as well as having the greatest view! Hide

Fantastic week in this very well located holiday cottage in Brixham. Clean and well equipped, with fantastic view over the harbour. Bonus of an off road parking spot as well. Sunset cottage is beautifully positioned and well-equipped, with the outstanding advantage of its own parking spot - rare in Brixham. We enjoyed our stay, especially the many attractive pubs and restaurants, but we suffered a bit from a very cold and dull spell of February weather. In warmer seasons it must be superb. The warnings about steep and cRead morehild-unfriendly steps need to be heeded - we managed perfectly well but anyone small or infirm would struggle. Hide

Lovely cottage in a perfect setting. Lots of steps so need to be mobile, but this added to the charm. The views are stunning whatever the weather, and we had it all. Rain, wind, fog, sun! Very comfortable throughout. Brixham is a great place to visit, so much choice of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. And the seals provide great entertainment. Stunning view above the harbour. Very lovely place to expirience british cosiness in a pretty, little cottage. Sunsets are spectacular and eaay access to the city and surroundings like Greenway parks or Torquay. Best issue for drivers: very good parking at the house!
