The perfect hideaway for a romantic break, this traditional fisherman’s cottage in the heart of Brixham, oozes character and old-world charm. Located just a few minutes from the town centre and harbour, with its many shops and restaurants, this delightful home has it all. With some spectacular coastal walks on the doorstep too, it’s the ideal base for exploring the beautiful English Riviera.

 

Chic, understated styling, along with many traditional features, creates a lovely restful atmosphere throughout this home. Steps lead into the property, which is spread over three floors. You’ll be whipping up a tasty snack or romantic meal in no time in the cottage-style kitchen, before you head upstairs to relax in the cosy lounge. On cooler evenings, the sofas in front of the open fire are the ideal spot to snuggle up together with a glass of wine and a film. When your eyes feel heavy, take the stairs up to your inviting bedroom and sink down into the sumptuous bed for a much-needed night’s sleep. Outside, the pretty cottage garden is a wonderful space to soak up the peaceful atmosphere. Fire up the BBQ and sit back and relax with a little al fresco dining.

 

Take a romantic stroll around the town’s bustling harbour and explore the full-size replica of Sir Francis Drake’s ship, The Golden Hind. Pack a picnic and head along the South West Coast Path to Berry Head National Nature Reserve (1.5 miles). Along the path, you’ll find some lovely secluded beaches including St Mary’s Bay and Fishcombe Cove. For a little history, visit the beloved holiday home of author Agatha Christie at the National Trust’s Greenway House and Gardens, 4.5 miles away.

Lovely, comfortable cottage, on three levels, so as long as you're OK with stairs you're fine. Was a great base for us two and our spaniel. The cottage is located up a steep and winding short access road. Parking is available, and provided nearby, which is great as there's very limited parking nearby. Overall the cottage was wonderful, as it was very tastefully decorated and furnished and just what we wanted. However, although it didn't affect the us, for those wanting to watch a fair bit of TV, it was not ideal because the signal was poor.

Lovely cottage in good location just a short walk down hill to town. Very well contained and just right for two of us and small westie. With steep stairs fine for us but maybe not for people with mobility issues. Very peaceful. Car parking permit a real bonus.

On the whole a nice cottage in a really good location. There is a bad wood lice problem though and it could do with a deep clean. Outside garden needs tiding up.

The cottage is absolutely gorgeous and situated ideally to brixham town. The car park space is worth its weight in gold especially if you had a lot of luggage like we did. There was my wife and I and the pet pug. The cottage may have been a one bedroom property but there was plenty of space inside this lovely cottage. Because of the weather and time of year (early March) we could not really take advantage of the outdoor seating areas but it would be lovely in spring, summer and early autumn. Beautifully presented cottage. Ideal location to discover Brixham and the SW coastal path. A chilled bottle of fizz was much appreciated on my arrival and the blazing log fire made for a perfect end to my days which were spent outdoors enjoying the magnificent scenery of S Devon.

The cottage is in excellent position for the harbour and town centre. It is excellently equipped. If you have bad knees it is not the cottage for you 2 steep sets of stairs otherwise a brilliant cottage. Would love to come back in the summer. Car parking permit a fantastic addition.

Lovely, clean and cosy cottage with small outside private garden space. Its in a great position within easy walking distance of the town centre. There are lots of available walking routes on coastal paths, down to coves and through woods which is also great for dogs.

We really loved our stay at Hideaway Cottage. Perfect cottage for 2 people and our small dog. On the whole the cottage was fine and in a great position, but the garden definitely needs to be looked into, as it is very tired and the seating area was not at all comfortable. For the price that was charged for the cottage the garden area should be much better.

Excellent location right on the harbour. The parking is a bit awkward when unloading your stuff as the roads are very narrow. Take ear plugs as the church bells ring every hour 24hrs a day.

Lovely cottage in a good location. Remember it is an old cottage and the stairs are steep. We are in our 70s and mobile but stairs could be a problem for the less physically able. Water lovely and hot, but shower not huge if you are of generous proportions. Not a problem with the car parking. Enjoyed our holiday here.

Hideaway Cottage definitely lived up to its name. We drove past the entrance gates unaware it was there. Once inside all was as expected. The stairs could be a problem for a person of limited mobility. That aside this is a lovely quaint little house with lots of character. Very close to both the harbour and town and all necessary facilities.

We had a perfect relaxing week with our little dog, most of the local pubs allow dogs. The cottage has everything you could possibly need. So pleased we found this via Brixham cottages.

Location to Brixham centre was ideal. Parking in Brixham is a problem so having an allocated parking space nearby was a real plus factor. Allowing a dog was also something we always look for.

Lovely little cottage very well equipped with good quality items for all your cooking needs . We stayed for Christmas and had everything we needed. .Nice and warm ,comfy bed and great shower. We loved hideaway cottage, wouldnt change anything. Loved the welcome bits. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding very crisp and clean. Only a stones throw from shops and restaurants. We will book this cottage again for sure.

Cottage is close to Brixham high street and the harbour and is well positioned for coastal walks. Milk and fizz in the fridge were a welcome surprise and the cottage is well equipped. The top terrace is a real sun trap which is lovely. Car parking permit very useful, we parked in the central car park for the 3 hours on the Sunday.

Beautiful little cottage set over three floors. Ideal location church bells for us were lovely to hear, yes there was a little noise from the post office but nothing that woke us up. Loved sitting at the little table outside the kitchen window in late afternoon sunshine all in all we had a lovely holiday at hideaway cottage
