Families will love the central location of this traditional sailor’s cottage, with an unconventional layout that really makes the most of the superb vista across Brixham harbour. In an elevated position above the town, it’s just a few minutes on foot to the town centre and busy fishing port.

Accommodation is spread over three floors. Kids will relish their own space – with a bunk room and twin on the ground floor - while Mum and Dad can retreat to the master en-suite at the top of the house. Everyone can congregate on the first floor, and the two TVs will prevent any squabbles for the remote after a long day exploring. On sunny afternoons children will enjoy the cute shady garden room in the split level garden, while you watch the harbour activity from the patio seating. And as the sun goes down, there’s no need to change the view, just head inside and watch from the comfort of the lounge.

It’s less than 200 metres down some steep steps to the town centre and the harbour, and only half a mile for those with pushchairs or the less agile. Take a boat trip out around the bay, try your hand at crabbing or take the older kids out on a fishing trip. Younger kids will love the pebbly beaches, half a mile in the other direction from the house, where there’s also a sea water swimming pool. For a larger strip of beach, with a little sand too, head to St Mary’s Bay on the south side of the headland, about a mile by car. Walkers will enjoy the stroll, about 2 miles, which passes Berry Head Lighthouse – with some spectacular clifftop views.

  • Three bedrooms:
  • 1 double with a en-suite ,(which has a wash basin & WC) located on the top floor
  • 1 twin bedroom and 1 bunk bedroom - located on the ground floor
  • Bathroom with bath, separate shower, and WC - located on the ground floor
  • TV and DVD, plus second TV in the dining room

Fantastic week in this very well located holiday cottage in Brixham. Clean and well equipped, with fantastic view over the harbour. Bonus of an off road parking spot as well. Sunset cottage is beautifully positioned and well-equipped, with the outstanding advantage of its own parking spot - rare in Brixham. We enjoyed our stay, especially the many attractive pubs and restaurants, but we suffered a bit from a very cold and dull spell of February weather. In warmer seasons it must be superb. Lovely cottage in a perfect setting. Lots of steps so need to be mobile, but this added to the charm. The views are stunning whatever the weather, and we had it all. Rain, wind, fog, sun! Stunning view above the harbour. Very lovely place to expirience british cosiness in a pretty, little cottage. Sunsets are spectacular and eaay access to the city and surroundings like Greenway parks or Torquay. Best issue for drivers: very good parking at the house!

Superb location overlooking Brixham harbour, short but steep 5 minute wonder down the steps into town. Cottage was big enough for our family of six, two adults and four teenagers, although an extra shower would've been handy. Off street parking and all the facilities you would require. Excellent

We had a great stay in Brixham, lots to do and see. The steps everywhere are quite a challenge so be warned. The cottage could do with a little tlc but adequate for the stay.

Well placed, lovely views across the harbour. Outdoor space is a bonus, catching the afternoon/evening sunshine. Good sized parking space. Property has steep narrow stairs and access to main town involved steep steps. Not a problem for us but bear in mind if you have mobility challenges.

I don't want to leave! One of the nicest places we have stayed in. Absolutely incredible views. Very well equipped home. Fantastic having parking. Lovely area in the garden to eat with a view of the harbour. I would return in a heartbeat. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your lovely home.

Fantastic views. Steep steps throughout property and to get to and from harbour as others have remarked upon. Not a problem for us. Good to have a parking space and rear access - meant we could organise a grocery delivery. Downstairs (2 bedrooms and bathroom) smells quite musty - but it is an old property. Some housekeeping issues.
