This property is located a stone’s throw from the town centre of Brixham, situated in an elevated position on the west side of Torbay. Brixham itself is a harbour town, with a proud maritime history, which visitors may like to explore by jumping on board the fascinating replica of the Golden Hind. The harbour continues to be busy today, and there is a flourishing fishing industry which is very much in evidence from the town’s numerous pubs and restaurants which specialise in the local seafood. There are several beaches within easy reach of the town centre, including Shoalstone Beach, which has the additional draw of a wonderful 53 metre tidal pool, providing safe bathing, no matter what the conditions at sea.

Several exterior steps lead to the front door of this attractive property, bringing guests to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, a lovingly styled room with some tasteful retro design touches. The lounge, is a welcoming light-filled space with a large sofa and comfortable chairs surrounding the TV, DVD, and cosy open fire. Enjoy the  views to the town’s harbour from the lounge.  One step up leads to the kitchen/diner with its dining table and breakfast bar providing plenty of space for family meals. Guests will easily find everything they need to make themselves at home in the kitchen, including an oven, hob, microwave and fridge. The washing machine and freezer, meanwhile, can be found in a separate covered utility area. On the first floor of the property are two bedrooms, the first of these is a double room which has the unusual benefit of its own  covered conservatory which overlooks the garden and provides a lovely private space to sit and relax. The second bedroom on this floor is a twin bedroom, whilst the first-floor bathroom offers a shower-over-bath and WC. The master bedroom, a double room, occupies the second floor of the property and enjoys views of the harbour and beyond to the sea.

Outside, to the rear of the properties, the garden is made up of several charming terraced patio spaces with steps connecting each area. Garden furniture is provided so that guests can make the most of these outdoor spaces, and one area is covered to provide shelter and a handy drying space. Please note that there are steep steps linking the patio areas, so children will need to be supervised. There is a parking space provided to the side of the property, please note this is on a steep incline, additional on street parking is available on a first come basis

  • 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £250 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £30. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

Central location, easy access. Parking on the slope isnt easy but is possible. Using St Peters Hill rather than the steps down to Brixham is easier to handle. Comfy house, kept well, neat and clean. Brixham is a lovely town been visiting it for years. Would recommend but 6 adults. might find it a bit cramped.

A very comfortable house and gardens. The parking space was very handy. We had good weather and our dog enjoyed sitting out on the balcony and watching the passing people, dogs and cats. Great location, just a three minute walk in to town, but a ten minute climb back home! We swam at Shoalstone seapool most days as the weather was kind to us.

Beautiful cottage with gorgeous views over the Harbour especially from top floor. Only 10 mins walk into town. Lovely little town , pubs, restaurants cafes etc. Steep walk back up 96 steps in total on one part but well worth it if you can do them. Parking space is available. We did reverse into the space as advised but nearly burnt the clutch out sRead moreo found driving into it much easier. We would definitely recommend the cottage and enjoyed our week with gorgeous weather too. Hide

Great location for Brixham, 2 minute walk down but steep coming back up! The best harbour view from the top window without being too close and noisy. Lovely well equipped cottage and very comfortable. Lots of outdoor space but very steep for children and dogs. We really enjoyed our 2 week stay at scallop. A beautiful cottage in a beautiful area. We loved our stay, the cottage is really well equipped with everything you could need and more. A lovely terraced garden and front balcony that leads from the lounge area which is beautiful to sit out on and enjoy the sunshine. Beds were really comfy and the cottage is perfectly situated to explore loads in Read morethe area. We would definitely stay again despite all the steps! We had a fantastic time in this well located and equipped cottage. Good size rooms and great amount of space for our party of 5 and 2 dogs. A short walk to the main harbour, albeit down a steep passage, but this was not an issue for us. Lovely tiered garden with great views of the harbour and a great balcony off the lounge area.
